"2001: A Spiritual
Odyssey"
Virtual Gallery Art Exhibit
Albuquerque, NM October 1, 2001 - Five professional New Mexico artists will be showing their art in a group exhibit entitled "2001: A Spiritual Odyssey" at the South Broadway Cultural Center, 1025 Broadway SE, Albuquerque, NM, 505-848-1320. The opening reception is on Friday, December 7, 2001 from 6 - 8 pm. The show runs through December 27. Gallery hours are Monday - Friday 8 am-5 pm and Saturday 10 am-6 pm. Serendipitously, there will be an art show in the same gallery honoring the Virgen of Guadalupe with a community procession on Saturday, December 8. Artists include: Veronica Piastuch (Albuquerque), Miriam Foronda (Taos), both oil painters; Pat Berrett, Albuquerque photographer; Derrick Montez, Albuquerque, photo mosaics; Sue Orchant, Albuquerque painter who will display mixed media pieces including silk painting. "2001: A Spiritual
Odyssey" exhibits the spiritual relationship between the artist
and their concept of Creator as Artist Supreme and the interconnectedness
of all living things. While spirituality is expressed though diverse
styles and art forms, this exhibit focuses on art as the window
of an artist's soul. This show will inspire the viewer to reflect
upon his or her own relationship with the mundane world and its
expression of the divine. The exhibit links artist, viewer and Creator
to each other by a series of chance and deliberate meetings in a
world fluctuating between chaos and order. CONTACT
